Daniel Litvin is a consultant and writer, formerly policy advisor to Rio Tinto plc, the mining multinational (where he drafted guidelines on human rights for the company’s managers), and before that, the environment and resources correspondent of The Economist. In 1998 he was the joint winner of the Young Financial Journalist of the Year presented by the Wincott Foundation. His writing has also been short-listed for the Greenpeace Award for best business coverage and the World Bank Award for the ethics of international business. He has first-class degrees in anthropology and development from the London School of Economics, and in philosophy, politics, and economics from Oxford University. He lives in London.
