Emma Young is an award-winning science and medical journalist and the author of over a dozen books. As well as adapting two of Bill Bryson’s titles for children (A Really Short Journey Through the Body and A Really Short History of Words) she has written two YA novels (She, Myself and I and Here Lie the Secrets), five children’s novels (the STORM series of thrillers, as EL Young) and a range of non-fiction titles for children, as well as adults. Emma's most recent book in the What If? series, What If... Every Volcano Erupted at Once? was published by DK in November 2025.
