Agent : Euan Thorneycroft
Born in Tralee, County Kerry, along the south-west coast of Ireland, Noel has been creating stories since a two-week holiday in a caravan park in Northern France when he was 13 – his first time removed from TV and his usual sporting outlets. He studied English and Philosophy at university in Cork, and then took a Masters in Anglo-Irish Literature, before moving to London to work on the editorial circuit, notably at Hamish Hamilton, where he became Fiction Editor of their literary magazine, Five Dials.
Noel moved back to Kerry to take up the position of Kerry County Council writer-in-residence – the youngest writer to ever be awarded the position. Noel’s short fiction has been published in The Stinging Fly, Ambit, and Southword. His debut novel, Though the Bodies Fell, will be published by Granta in Autumn 2023.
