Norman Lazarus

Norman Lazarus was born in South Africa and went to Wits University.
In 1956, he graduated with a BSc and a medical degree, before spending ten years in the United States where he obtained his PhD, undertaking research on diabetes in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, DC.
Dr Lazarus came to the UK in 1970 where he worked in the pharmaceutical industry.
He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathology in 1991. For the last 14 years, Dr Lazarus has been a Professor at Kings College, Guy’s Campus London, acting both as a subject and an investigator on the physiology of healthy ageing. The Lazarus Strategy is his first book.
