Stevie Davies
Welsh born Stevie Davies is a novelist, literary critic, biographer and historian. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, a Fellow of the Academi Gymreig and is Director of Creative Writing at the University of Wales, Swansea.

She is the author of numerous works of fiction and non-fiction. Her previous titles include FOUR DREAMERS AND EMILY, IMPASSIONED CLAY, THE ELEMENT OF WATER and KITH AND KIN.

THE ELEMENT OF WATER was longlisted for both the Booker (2001) and Orange (2002) Prizes and won the 2002 Arts Council of Wales Award.
KITH AND KIN was longlisted for the Orange Prize in 2004
THE WEB OF BELONGING was made into an ITV film (written by Alan Plater and screened as BELONGING) and transmitted in 2004 starring Brenda Blethyn and Kevin Whately. Her latest book, ARREST ME, FOR I HAVE RUN AWAY (2017), was shortlisted for the Wales Book of the Year Awards 2019.
