Susan Price has always loved reading and telling stories. At the age of 16 she published her first book, The Devil's Piper. Since then she has written more than thirty books, including The Ghost Drum, winner of the Carnegie Medal and The Sterkarm Handshake, which won The Guardian Award. She lives in the West Midlands and is considered one of the best writers for children today.
