Once read, never forgotten...

Mike and Gally Martin should be idyllically happy as they move to a new cottage in Somerset. But then Gally meets Ferney, an old countryman who seems to know everything about their house and its past, and a strange fixation takes hold of her. What is it that draws Gally and Ferney together? Ferney knows that time is slipping away and that he must make Gally understand their connection: a bond that has stood the test of time, that runs deeper than life or death.
