Dan Ashby and Lucy Taylor are investigative journalists specialising in thrilling environment stories. Their hit BBC podcast, Buried, now in its third season, has had millions of listens, won awards across the world, and is being adapted into a BBC television series. The husband-and-wife duo have lived and worked all over the world, from East Africa to Russia. Their work includes confronting organised crime, publishing deathbed confession tapes, undercover reporting and evading authoritarian regimes, among much else. Over the years, their exclusive investigations have triggered a United Nations inquiry, authority-led investigations, and legal action. They dedicated themselves to environmental journalism after their friend, a prominent ivory detective, was assassinated in 2017. Their debut book, The Last Witness, sees them teaming up with the actor Michael Sheen to investigate allegations of a chemical conspiracy, and will be published by Bonnier Books in September 2026.
