Julia Williams grew up in North London as one of eight children in a very bookish family. She has a twin sister who also writes, another sister who translates, and yet another who is a poet.
After studying English at Liverpool University (where she met her husband) Julia embarked on a career in publishing. She spent ten years working in children’s books before deciding to go freelance and try her hand at writing. Her first book, Pastures New, was published by Avon in 2007 and since then she has published ten books. She currently has several different projects in the pipeline. Julia has four adult daughters and lives with her husband in Surrey.
