Katy Beskow
Katy is a cook, food writer and cookery tutor with a passion for good vegan food. Katy's journey into veganism began when she moved to London from a sleepy Yorkshire town and stumbled across a colourful and exotic fruit and vegetable market - she was inspired to start cooking with new foods and to replace her cheese-laden vegetarian diet with an ethical vegan lifestyle. She started the blog Little Miss Meat-Free in 2013 to share her recipes, and it has since grown into a popular vegan recipe website. She was recently featured in BBC Good Food Magazine as one of their 'happy food heroes', and is included in a number of 'Top Vegan Blog' listings. In 2014, Katy won PETA's Great Vegan Bake Off.

Katy currently has a regular column with Healthy magazine, the UK's largest well-being magazine, writes about food and topical vegan issues at The Huffington Post UK, and is a regular contributor to The Weekend Show on BBC Radio Humberside and Sunday Morning on BBC Radio York. She has had recipes and articles featured in a range of publications, including The Independent, Vegetarian Living, Vegan Life, and The Yorkshire Post. She runs classes at York Cookery School and The Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and demonstrates her dishes at a number of food festivals, including Foodies Festivals in Cheshire, Yorkshire, Birmingham, Edinburgh and London, The Harrogate Flower Show and The Great Yorkshire Show.

Katy is the best-selling author of 11 vegan cookbooks. Her first book, Fifteen Minute Vegan, was published by Quadrille in 2017. She has since published Fifteen Minute Vegan Comfort Food, Fifteen Minute Vegan On A Budget, Five Ingredient Vegan, Vegan Fakeaway, Easy Vegan Bible, Vegan Roasting Pan, Vegan BBQ, Easy Speedy Vegan, and Easy Vegan Christmas. Her latest book, Thrifty Vegan, containing 150 of the best budget recipes from Katy's original Fifteen Minute Vegan series, was published in December 2023.
