Lani Watson is a philosopher based at the University of Oxford. Her research is all about questions and questioning and is the basis and inspiration for her writing. She is fascinated by questions. What exactly are they, how do we use them, why do we ask them, and how can we harness their hidden power for good. Her research explores questioning in everyday life, in education, and in professional roles ranging from doctors, lawyers and journalists to scientists, hairdressers and magicians. She is passionate about applying her expertise to help everyone make the most of asking great questions and has worked with professional organisations including the British Army, Intradiem, and Edinburgh Zoo! Lani lives in Edinburgh with her wife and their cat, Riley – the least curious being on Earth.
Her first book Q: The Hidden Power of Questions in a World That Wants Answers will be published by The Bodley Head (UK) and Viking (US) in 2027.
