Liesel Schwarz is a qualified a lawyer and has practiced insurance law for more than a decade in both the UK and in South Africa. She also has an MA in creative writing and is currently completing her doctorate in English and creative writing at Brunel University.
She is a life-long fan of 19th Century Gothic literature, a hopeless romantic and loves Victorians, steampunk, fantasy monsters, and the correct way to drink absinthe. She also Iikes Medieval stuff, pirates, zombies, space operas and all irreverent subjects in between.
She chooses to live in London because she loves weather there.
Her first three novels, an Edwardian Steampunk series The Chronicles of Light & Shadow are published by Random House/Del Rey.
