Peter Berresford Ellis
Peter Berresford Ellis is the pre-eminent Celtic scholar now writing. Since his first publication in 1968 he has received several awards for his work. He was chairman of the Celtic League from 1988 to 1990, and in 2002 he was only the second writer to be made an Honorary Life Member of the Irish Literary Society, founded in 1891 by W B Yeats. He was also made an Honorary Life President of the Scottish 1820 Society and was made a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedd (1987) for his work on the history of the Cornish language. He has written full-length biographies for writers such as: H Rider Haggard and Talbot Mundy as well as critical essays on other popular fiction works.
He writes Celtic mysteries under the pseudonyms Peter Tremayne and Peter MacAlan.
