Quintin Lake is an award-winning photographer, writer and long-distance walker whose work explores landscape, place and identity through ambitious journeys on foot. For part of each year he sleeps in a tent while undertaking multi-month walking expeditions around Britain, a habit he probably should have outgrown decades ago, but one that remains a vital source of inspiration.

His third book, The Perimeter, shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize, chronicles a five-year, 11,000-kilometre journey walking and photographing the entire coast of mainland Britain. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Society of Arts, his work has appeared in the Guardian, Telegraph, Times, National Geographic Traveller and on the BBC One Show. In 2020 he was named The Great Outdoors Outdoor Personality of the Year.
