Richard Burke was born in London, but grew up in Oxford from the age of ten. After a short stint working as a bond trader in the city, he left finance for a career in television. He is an award-winning producer and director of TV science programmes. His credits include the series Space for the BBC, and Discovery's hit series Raging Planet. He lives in Somerset with his wife and son. His first novel, Frozen, a psychological thriller, was published in 2004 and was part of Orion’s New Blood campaign. His second novel, Redemption was published by Orion.
