Simon Beaufort

Simon Beaufort is the pseudonym of a female writer who also writes as Susanna Gregory. Before she earned her PhD at the University of Cambridge and became a Research Fellow at the Scott Polar Research Institute, she was a police officer in Yorkshire. As well as her Matthew Bartholomew novels set in medieval Cambridge, she has written a number of non-fiction books, including ones on castles, cathedrals, historic houses and world travel. She and her husband live in a village near Cambridge.
