Alison's two failed marriages have left her with a pretty eleven-year-old daughter, a house full of junk and an assortment of bohemian neighbours who treat the place like a hotel. Then she meets Noah Glazer, who pulls her from the path of a speeding car, before going on to rescue her in many other ways. He brings with him a serenity and order she has never known before.
