The newspaper headline read ‘Unknown Man Found Shot.’ Alasdair had run into that ‘unknown man’ on the train to Skye. In fact, the stranger had slipped him a last desperate message – ‘Hunt at the Hill of the Red Fox MI5.’ There was soon no doubt in Alasdair’s mind that his uncle, Murdo Beaton, was involved in the crime – and this time it wasn’t a simple poaching operation – atomic scientists and their secrets were disappearing.
