Dr Alwyn Turner has worked as a cinema projectionist, secretary and as a writer of board games and trivia games. He is now a Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Chichester, where his research interests lie in the second half of the 20th century, and particularly in the interaction between politics and popular culture.
His latest book, A Shellshocked Nation: Britain Between the Wars, will be published by Profile Books in January 2026.
