Robert McGill was born in the small town of Wiarton, Ontario and grew up there. His first novel, The Mysteries, was named one of the top five Canadian fiction books of 2004 by Quill & Quire. A Rhodes Scholar and member of the Harvard Society of Fellows, he now lives in Toronto, where he writes and teaches.
