Tim Parks is a British novelist, essayist, travel writer and translator based in Italy, where he has lived for more than forty years. His novel Europa was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and the novel Judge Savage longlisted. His non-fiction works include Italian Neighbours, An Italian Education, Italian Ways and A Season with Verona, as well as a memoir on chronic pain and meditation, Teach Us to Sit Still. Award-winning translator of works by Calvino, Calasso, Pasolini and Pavese, he is a regular contributor to the NYRB, the LRB and the TLS.
