The Game of Triumphs

Since her parents died, fifteen-year-old Cat has lived with her Aunt Bel. Newly arrived in London where Bel is working as a croupier in a dodgy casino, Cat spends her evenings wandering aimlessly round Soho. But when she intervenes in a pursuit, Cat finds herself designated a Chancer, a novice player in the Arcanum, the oldest and most deadly card game in the world, played out on the streets of London, but in many other Londons as well.
