Eve Robinson is getting used to being an ex-wife and a single mum to two teenagers. Struggling to “be reasonable” for the sake of the kids, she grits her teeth and tries to be nice to Oliver’s new girlfriend, lithe, leggy and youthful Anna, while maintaining her working relationship with Oliver. All her plans, and Anna’s, go out of the window when Oliver dies suddenly in a car accident. Both women are appalled when they discover that Oliver’s will leaves his struggling restaurant to them equally, but against all the odds they manage to find a way to carry out his wishes. And then Eve begins a relationship with Adam, one of the restaurant’s suppliers, who is the catalyst for an awkward and unexpected twist in the tale.
