Born in London, Conn Iggulden read English at London University and worked as a teacher for seven years before becoming a full time writer, starting with his first work: the Gates of Rome. In 2007, he became the first person to top the UK fiction and non-fiction charts at the same time. His notable works include The Emperor series 2003-2013, The Conqueror series 2007-2011, Wolf of the Plains / Genghis: Birth of an Empire which won the Alex Awards, Best Book in 2008 and The Dangerous Book for Boys series; the first written with his brother, Hal Iggulden, 2006 and the second with his two sons, 2019. This won the British Book Awards, Book of the Year, in 2007. He is married and lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and four children.
